ROWING

Hi Everyone! I hope all are well. Though it is still freezing outside, summer is right around the corner. Which makes this the right time to send out an inquiry regarding a potential Johnstown Irish Rowing Club. Shawn, Meghan, Gavin, Matt & Beth Carroll, and Joe met last summer to discuss the idea of such a team - we thought there might be enough interest among our family and friends of our family. Participation in the JIRC could be occassional, casual, social or competitive. So, if you make it to 1 practice or every practice and race, it would be a chance to get outdoors, have fun and catch up with family and friends. Johnstown was chosen as the location b/c we all have roots there and b/c a Pittsburgh Irish Rowing Team already exists. Jtown is also a doable locaton for the Harrisburg contingent. For those of us living in Pgh, we would hold practice there too - on the Ohio. Gav is in process of researching water options in the Jtown area. If this intrigues you at all, the next step would be to determine if you actually enjoy rowing. We are going to host a few "try out the boat days" at a location near you :) I have included a few dates below that could work - please respond with your preference and we'll try to make it work best for everyone.May 17/17, May 23/24, June 6/7 Please forward this to anyone who might be interested.
