Hi Uncle John-
Owen Andrew was born at 1:38 yesterday afternoon (December 6) via c-section and set a new grandchild record at a whopping 12 lb 5 oz!...Aside from the encephalocele, he appears to be perfect in every respect. He is exhibiting all the typical newborn behaviors, and is taking breastmilk every three hours through a syringe, and experimenting with bottle feeding as well. His cousins got to meet him yesterday, and as of now he is still doing great.
I was wondering if you could help spread the word to the gang via the blog about a simple way that family could give a meaningful gift to Jen & Kevin to celebrate the birth of Owen Andrew. Jen and Kevin had a professional photographer capturing priceless memories at Owen's birth, and I know that these images are ones that they will treasure for the rest of their lives....Their photographer will be giving them a CD of beautiful images of Owen & his family. It would be nice if we could provide Jen and Kevin with a gift card to a professional photo printing site (such as mpix.com) so that they could have some beautiful professional-quality prints of their son to hang in their home, and to create a photo book celebrating him at shuttefly.com. If anyone would like to contribute to this "picture fund" they can send their contributions to me at 525 Straight St, Sewickley PA 15143, or give them to Chris & Karen in person. I will purchase the gift cards on Thursday, December 12 with whatever funds we have collected by then.
