Friday (1/10/14)
Well, we are still here although I'm not sure why. The only
machine that is monitoring Owen right now is the oxometer (or something like
that). The Only Machine! He's not on oxygen anymore. I think the last time he
received any oxygen was this afternoon. It's just a very slow process.
Owen had his first tv appearance today and I must say he did
awesome. He cried right on cue! A local news station came to our room and
interviewed Drs Meara and Proctor and also Kevin and I. Lauren Burkert Lazzari
connected us with a producer of the station. (Thank you!) They were so nice and
the story they aired was very well done. They first showed his picture at the
beginning of the news and said about a miracle. It was awesome to hear
"baby Owen" and "miracle" used by someone we don't really
know. The news station is supposed to post it online so I will share it once
it's up!
Owen will be getting fitted for a helmet soon. I'm not sure when
or where. They mentioned doing that up here Monday but they must have seen the
look on our face about staying through the weekend. That is definitely
something we can do back home.
Well I'm exhausted! I'll let you all know when we get discharged
and get to put Owen in his car seat for the very first time!
Good night and God Bless!

Bye bye Boston! You have been great to us! Thank you for saving Owen's
life! We are forever in love with the great city! — feeling happy.
The crew slept over here in State College on the way home.  Headed out for the last leg this morning
around 11 am.
